This warm and inviting kitchen was deemed by judges to be particularly well designed. The cabinetry is in Nyatoh veneer which creates an effect of sleekness with its straight vertical lines. The earthy tones of lacquer finished timber contrasts with the granite benchtop. Frosted glass softens the look of the overhead cabinets. Part of the design element was for the kitchen to face out into the dining area, with a theatre style cooking space, where the cook could interact with guests while cooking. A clever aspect was hiding the brick walled pantry behind panelling, creating an entry door that looks part of the cabinetry.
